Center Stage Theater Presents Meredith Willson's The Music Man

The classic musical, “The Music Man,” tells the story of a charismatic con man named Harold Hill who dupes the unsuspecting residents of a small Midwestern town. Harold poses as a boys’ band organizer and leader, selling instruments and uniforms to the townsfolk and promising to train their children to become talented musicians.

But here’s the catch: Harold has no musical talent whatsoever and has no intention of actually teaching anyone how to play. He plans to take the money and skip town before anyone realizes he’s a fraud.

Enter Marian, a prim and proper librarian who sees right through Harold’s scheme. But when he helps her younger brother overcome his speech impediment, Marian begins to see Harold in a different light.

As the plot thickens, Harold risks getting caught in order to win Marian’s heart. Along the way, we get to enjoy some of the most beloved songs in musical theater history, including “Seventy-Six Trombones” and “Till There Was You.”
