When as a young man Murphy Darden moved from Mississippi to Kalamazoo, he brought with him a passionate love of art that would flourish in his new home. In addition to drawing and painting, Darden has undertaken such unique projects as creating models of African-American churches from Kalamazoo's past and creating his own home museum of black history and culture. Kalamazoo artist James Watkins created this documentary of Darden, who will also be present at the program.
