Artist statement

• I paint in pastels because of the colors! I am a person that is affected by color in a very strong way. The intensity of pastels feed me in a way no other medium has, so far. Scraping sticks across paper, the sanded roughness, and saturated hues encompass all my senses at once. I pull whatever image that strikes my fancy to paint, so my work is rather eclectic. Pastels generally lend themselves to landscapes, but I am experimenting with all kinds of subjects.
