Our featured playwright is Shea-Lin Shobowale-Benson, an African-American writer based in Kalamazoo. Her 10-minute piece unpacks a rising Black actor’s struggle for recognition in Hollywood, a topic that the #OscarsSoWhite movement has drawn attention to. Starring Dwane Stiger and Denetta Diamond. This is the second performance in Face Off Theatre Company’s Virtual Spring/Summer New Play Series 2020. Join us on July 23 at 7 pm for a different play! Face Off Theatre has been providing Southwest Michigan with innovative diverse theater since 2015 through a partnership with the Black Arts & Cultural Center in Kalamazoo.
