2021 Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom

Soul Artistry LLC will host a celebration to commemorate the history of Juneteenth on Saturday, June 19, 2021. The event will be live-streamed from 1:00-3:00 pm and will feature all youth participants. This family-friendly event reached more than 7.5k viewers in 2020 and was one of the first successfully live-streamed events hosted within the Kalamazoo community during the worldwide pandemics.

Juneteenth is a celebration created by African-Americans to help commemorate the emancipation of slavery. The celebration is held every year on the 19th of June as on that day in 1865, slavery was abolished. This celebration also goes by the name of Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day. Now in its fifth year, the Soul Artistry LLC produced Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom has become highly anticipated within the community.
