2014 Gilmore Festival: Grand Band, six-piano ensemble

Grand Band is a six-piano ensemble comprising some of New York City’s finest artists. In 2012, the group debuted on six interlocking grand pianos at the Bang on a Can Marathon, performing Steve Reich’s epic Six Pianos. The ensemble has been in increasing demand ever since, but this will be their first appearance outside the NYC area. They will be performing the Reich work and a newly-commissioned piece by Michael Gordon.
