Cori Terry, artistic director and founder of Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers, was born in Brooklyn, NY. She joined the Erick Hawkins Dance Company in 1974. She has performed and taught in major cities throughout the U.S. and Europe. In 1980 she moved to Kalamazoo as Artist-in-Residence at WesternMichiganUniversity, forming Wellspring in 1981. She has twice received a Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs Creative Artist Grant for choreography and was the recipient of Kalamazoo’s prestigious Community Medal of Arts.
