Artists Wanted for Curated Permanent Installation

Full Circle Communities (FCC) is a nonprofit supportive housing organization whose mission is to expand access to quality affordable housing through preservation and development, thoughtful design, and the provision of significant and targeted supportive services to our residents and surrounding communities. There are two properties in Kalamazoo that Full Circle manages: Maple Grove Village, located at 1117 Summit Avenue and Selinon Park Apartments, located at 1603 East Centre Avenue in Portage, MI.

Maple Grove Village has a community clubhouse where art can be displayed/hung up. Art can be hung up in the halls of the clubhouse and common spaces (4 rooms). Approximately 20 pieces of art can be installed at Maple Grove Village’s clubhouse.

At Selinon Park Apartments, the art will be placed in common spaces like the lobby area, community rooms, and hallways of Selinon Park’s largest residential building. Approximately 40 pieces of art can be installed at Selinon Park Apartments. There is also a large feature wall in the lobby that would accommodate a mural. FCC is interested in commissioning a piece for this wall and is particularly interested in artists familiar with principles of therapeutic art for persons with mental or behavioral health conditions. The available space is approximate 15’ x 7’.

We are looking for artists who are interested in a permanent install of their art work in one of these two properties. FCC is looking for artists who are connected to the Kalamazoo community and whose art reflects a sense of inclusion and togetherness. If you are interested please contact, Bianca Washington Ciungan, Program Director at the Arts Council: and if you have any specific questions about the properties, please contact Carl Kunda at FCC:
