Trish Joseph

Trish has been fascinated by color since her earliest memories. Her methods incorporate various drawing materials and play contrasting hues against each other to a painterly effect. The energetic brush stroke quality of Van Gogh and Degas’ sense of light and love for the pastel medium have in?uenced her style. She uses bold colors and exaggerated linear motion to metephorically represent the power and vitality of growing things. Her ?oral series is an ongoing exploration inspired by a passion for gardening and appreciation for a wide variety of ?oral forms. Trish grew up spending summers in West Michigan and currently resides in the Kalamazoo area. She studied art at Principia College in Elsah, Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts which included a dual focus in drawing and ceramics. Her art and design related career thus far has included producing and selling original ceramic work, graphic design, video editing and Video/photo montage. Her artwork has been exhibited in The Little Yellow Frame Shop and Gallery in Richland, Michigan, the Signature Artist Co-op seasonal gallery, Kalamazoo art hops, and regional ?ne art fairs.
