Steve Kamerling

I have been a working guitarist, bassist (upright and electric) and vocalist for over 40 years.  I’ve performed with top 40 and jazz combos in Kalamazoo, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Chicago and Lexington at numerous clubs, festivals and private venues.  I specialize in jazz and pop standards, and am strongly influenced by New Orleans style jazz/R&B.   I am proud of my unusually diverse repertoire covering artists ranging from Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and Ray Charles to Johnny Cash, Beyonce and Lady Gaga. I’ve recently been composing and writing instrumental and vocal originals on guitar and bass, and look forward to showcasing them in the Kalamazoo area. I also find inspiration via collaborations with musicians of all styles.
