Artist Statement

My art is expressionistic and reflective of my drive to create something unique and fresh. Nature is a moif that gives me the imagery and form in my compositions. Color is also important in my work, as it motivates me to keep progressing toward developing a cohesive composition,

When I paint, there is a collective energy that drives me to bring out my spontaneity. This enables me to have a freedom that is unmatched in anything else I do.  I get oblivious to any parameters set by traditional art, but at the same time I seem to still draw from tradition when I paint.

Painting isn’t a hobby to me, more like a concentration of ideas that are brought out through the 2-dimensional surface.  It’s an expression of my inner thoughts and ideas that come to life in my studio.
