This class introduces the styles, history, and use of calligraphy as an art form. The instructors will exhibit framed calligraphic art, present images of historical and contemporary calligaphy, and demonstrate the various calligraphic styles, tools, and media that result in a finished calligraphic piece. Students will then try their hand at making Italic letterforms.
Registration must be received by Kalamazoo Book Arts Center at least 5 days prior to the class.
