K–12 Initiatives
The Arts Council serves and supports the educational community in a number of ways. Teachers
and administrators are invited to submit grants to the MAGIK (Making Arts Grow in Kalamazoo)
program, which brings professional artists into the classroom.
Exemplary middle and high school artists are featured weekly in the Kalamazoo Gazette
as "Young Artists of the Week," with a year-end opportunity to apply for the Young Artist
of the Year award.
We consult and collaborate with a number of organizations to support educational, artistic
initiatives and display student artwork throughout the community.
