Kalamazoo, MI—The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo is excited to announce a collaboration with the cities of Parchment, Portage and Oshtemo Township to promote summer concerts in Kalamazoo County. Summertime Live will promote Sunday’s Arts Council’s Concerts in the Park as well Parchment’s Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts – The Stage at Kindleberger and Oshtemo Township’s Music in the Park, and the City of Portage’s Thursday Summer Entertainment Series. “We are fortunate in Kalamazoo County to have great summer music festivals that support local artists and bring different genres and introduce new artists into our community,” states Kristen Chesak, Executive Director of the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo. “The Arts Council is excited to be able to sponsor and promote our community partner’s concert series together with our Sunday Bronson Park Concerts in Park as Summertime Live.
Concerts in the Park
One of Kalamazoo’s long-standing traditions offered Sunday’s in June, July and August in Bronson Park deliver a unique offering unlike other concert series in Kalamazoo. Each concert is free and is friendly for the entire family. Picnic meals (no grilling allowed), blankets or lawn chairs are encouraged. Shows begin at 4 pm. The rain location is First United Methodist Church, just across from Bronson Park (unless otherwise noted). Notice will be posted on kalamazooarts.org and Facebook if the concert is moved indoors due to inclement weather.
Concerts in the Park is a program of the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, with support from the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation and the City of Kalamazoo.

Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts
The 37th Annual Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts, The Stage at Kindleberger promises to be outstanding with a wide variety of acts, which has something for everyone. The Summer Concert Series schedule is a diverse collection of music performing over seven weekends. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. Come and enjoy a relaxing evening in Kindleberger Park at The Stage. Bring the kids, a picnic dinner and your lawn chairs for an entertaining night in Parchment! The entrance at to Kindleberger Park is at the corner of Park Avenue and Hubbard Street. The Kindleberger Summer Festival of the Performing Arts, The Stage at Kindleberger is sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, Irving S. Gilmore Foundation, and Advia Credit Union. Portage Summer Entertainment Series
Join the City of Portage for their Summer Entertainment Series at Overlander Bandshell. The Thursday evening concert series will feature various genres of music that will be fun for all ages. Concessions will be available for purchase. Concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and are free, except Damien Escobar ($15 general admission). Parking for all shows will be available at City Hall, Portage District Library, and Portage Senior Center. Portage Summer Entertainment Series is brought to you by the Portage Parks and Recreation Department and is sponsored by the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo and the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation. Music in the Park
To bring music and entertainment to the residents of Oshtemo Township, Friends of the Parks is excited to announce 2018 Music in the Park Summer Concert Series! Music and hands-on art begin at 6:00 p.m. making this an event for the whole family to enjoy. The concerts will be held at Flesher Field’s Gazebo which provides plenty of lawn seating for our guests. Food will be available for purchase or bring a picnic supper. Alcohol is prohibited. In the case of inclement weather, the concerts will be moved inside to the Voyage Church.
